It’s that time of year again when our precious little goblins and ghouls dress up in costumes that display their true nature. JK. They put on costumes and only PRETEND to be bad. Or angels. In honor of that, here are some tips for a safe and fun Halloween that have always, or mostly always, worked for me:
Tips for Parents
* Don’t buy Halloween candy early because there’s no place you can hide it that you won’t be able to find it.
* Don’t let your kids go trick-or-treating alone. Go with them. Most people will feel sorry for you and they’ll give you candy, too.
* Only let your kids have a few pieces of their Halloween candy each day. That way, it will last until December and you don’t have to buy more for the Christmas stockings. (Unless you hide it in the same place where you hid the Halloween candy.)
Tips for Kids
* Wear light colored clothing so that you will be seen. This is especially practical if you are dressed as a witch or vampire.
* Pick a difficult costume for your mom to make. The more time she spends sewing, the greater likelihood it will be cold outside and you will have to cover your costume with a coat and no one will see it, anyway.
* Don’t go to strangers’ houses. Since they don’t know you, they are less likely to give you good stuff.
* Don’t eat unwrapped candy. This saves you from consuming dangerous and unwanted foods like apples and carrot sticks.
* If you are taller than 6 feet and old enough to drive yourself to the store to buy your own candy, then you are too old to go trick-or-treating.
Unless you are taking your little sister with you.
And bringing back candy for your mom.
Happy Halloween!

Very funny : ). I did buy 4 bags at Wallmart a few weeks ago, and we have about 3 pieces left in 1 bag. Yeah, not so great. Hope you have fun! I love this time of year. Trick or treaters are so cute!
