As you meditate on the many mysteries of the universe, ponder this:
Is it a potato, a basset hound, or a book report?
If you answered book report, you would be correct.
Of course, you’d also be correct if you answered basset hound.
Or potato.
(Don’t you just love a quiz where every answer is right?)
But what, you should be asking yourself, is a potato doing masquerading around as a book report, or a basset hound, for that matter?
Well, I’ll tell you. Because, you know, I am here to answer all the tough questions.
For my daughter’s 3rd grade book report this month, she had to use a fruit or a vegetable to make one of the book’s main characters. And a masterful job she (we) did, don’t you agree?
Now, I bet you want to know what literary masterpiece this basset hound/potato hails from. That would be The Case of the Ballet Bandit from The New Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley series. Their motto is “Will solve any crime by dinner time.”
So, yes, you’ll want to add that to your “Must Read” book list. You can also add Scarlett the Garnet Fairy from the Rainbow Magic The Jewel Fairies series. That’s what my daughter is reading now. I hear it’s a real page turner.
And, in anticipation of the opening of High School Musical 3, we were watching High School Musical 2 last night. It’s a classic. Especially that part where Troy’s mom says, “Can we redirect this energy by carrying in the groceries?”
I think I’m going to embroider that quote on a pillow.
But not on a potato.
We save those for the book reports.

How is it that no one is commenting on your posts? You’re hilarious. I’m so glad that I saw you on Mormon Mommy Blogs.
